One of our Balsam Fir Christmas trees
The trees need shearing twice a year to keep them in a marketable shape
Bailed Balsam Fir trees are easier to transport home
Balsam Fir is the premium type of Christmas Tree and Lunenburg County in Nova Scotia, Canada is the christmas tree producer capital of the world. Good news for Newbury Hill Farm!
Each tree is sheared every year. Customers look for the upside down ice cream shape. Though a more open, natural look is becoming popular.
After the tree is cut down and trimmed, it is sent through the baler. The baler squashes the tree ready for transport. Don't worry it'll spring back into shape once you release it from the string.
See us at the farm gate for a selection of top quality sheared Christmas trees.
We have around 6 acres of Balsam Fir christmas trees. In 2020 we should have around 500 trees for sale if all goes well.
